About me

Marena Skinner is a self-taught, multidisciplinary artist hailing from Vancouver, BC Canada.

Mediums she works with are acrylic paint, paint pens, screen printing, tattooing, sewing and wheat pasting. Her style can be considered lowbrow and involves her own world of characters she has created.

Her advocacy what's happening in the world including housing rights, cost of living crisis and sexual harassment show through her work. Screen printing her own merch from her home and selling paintings is currently her full-time gig. She also makes her own outfits and shoes for all her shows and would love to make more unique clothes in the future. She is all about hand made and no digital work. This DIY advocate started hand painting shirts and selling them in high school, then started screen printing and doing markets at the age of 18 in 2010.

Marena has shown her work in Canada, USA and South Africa and has tattooed her work in London and Berlin. Her last solo show was in Berkeley, CA July 2022
